French property is a very bad investment
Why?

If you rent out your property you will loose many rights.  In fact if the renters loose their job they can stop paying rent and continue to live in your property.   This is only the tip of the iceberg however.  France has squatter laws.   This means if you don't rent out your property but leave it vacant someone can break in and start living in your property and you can do very little to get them out.

Renters can abuse your property by not maintaining it properly.  This can happen anywhere but if it happens to property you rent out in France your in for a big surprise.  French courts support renter rights over owner rights in many instances that confound logic and the renters have rights born from a socialist system,  meaning they have more rights than you do.

Rental contracts mean little in the French court system.  New laws are passed almost daily,  sometimes contradicting other laws making a pick and choose situation as to what law the court wants to enforce.  The best is to come.

France in many ways has a legal system quite similar to Mexico.  Money and influence can bribe and corrupt the legal system making justice a romantic fantasy. Furthermore, France has a high concentration of Freemasons.  On the surface this fact doesn't seem to mean an awful lot but if you know your history about Freemasons some interesting facts make some mighty interesting correlations.  Follow our hyperlink about Freemasons found in our story about the Corrupt Lawyer.  In fact read the story about Gilles Pédron's attempt to defraud a family out of their house.  It is an ongoing story we are covering and plan to follow to its conclusion.  Never-the- less Freemasonry in France is quite prevalent amongst members of the judiciary, attorneys and other individuals who hold prominent positions in French society.  In fact according to a reliable source in Angers it is especially popular in that town.

You may wonder why anyone in their right mind would own rental property in France.   Perhaps only those who are not in their right mind or those who are very naive own rental property.  We have found that many French citizens fear the legal system because it seems to be generally regarded as unfair, corrupt and expensive to become involved with. Government censorship and fines have been imposed on those that would speak out.  Until recently the average citizen had almost no ability to speak out.   The Internet has finally given this ability but the French government, true to form, is censoring and fining those that try.  Indeed, for a French citizen to place so much as the smallest web site they must file papers showing who they are and where they live and what the content is.  France most certainly seems to have a blend of Mexico and Nazi Germany along with a dash of Communism for the mechanics of its government.

More to come in the near future on the above article.

One last thought, do not think of investing in business in France.  Yes high tax (54 percent) but if you fire an employee for say messing up your books and costing you some serious money, well, just bend over and kiss it good-bye.  Thanks to the French government that fired employee can get free legal help and thanks to the Mexican styled legal system,  that employee will squeeze you until you feel like a grape turned to wine.
